About Company:

Opened in September 2018, the school has been welcoming approximately 150 students and 40 teachers. The school is fully accredited with the Nanjing Bureau of Education. By 2021, the school shall have a school roll of 2,200 students, supported by 200 teachers and a large team of support staff. Thus, the school is rapidly expanding, and they are delighted to be recruiting new staff for September 2019 to join their exceptional team.


Job Profile:

Lessons are taught bilingually, from K1 through to Grade 9, with both Chinese and Foreign Teachers (mother tongue English, or absolute fluency in spoken, reading and written English) teaching together. English is the medium for the DP.


Job Details:

Salary range: 20k-30k

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or above, related majors.

• Having a related teaching certificate.

• At least 2 years related teaching experience, IB curriculum.

working experience preferred.

• International school working experience preferred.

• Have a good command of communication and teaching skills.

• Have an enthusiasm for teaching young students.

• Have strong English skills.

• Be responsible, patient, proactive, and willing to learn.


General Responsibilities:

• Arrive at least 15 minutes before your class begins.

• Be in your classroom before students are allowed to enter it.

• Do not leave students unsupervised.

• If for some reason you need to leave campus, get permission from your supervisor

• When leaving campus sign out (for fire safety reasons) and sign back in when you return

• Perform all duties as assigned to you by your principal. These may include supervision of playground, lunchroom, detention room, dismissal, and others.

• Other responsibilities as arranged by school.

• Attend all divisional and school meetings as required.

• Maintain your teaching space in a tidy manner.

• Check school emails before 9:00 a.m. and at 4:00 p.m. each day.

• Respond to parent inquires (emails/telephone messages within 24 hours or sooner)

• Create an annual budget of the need for your classroom and submit it to your principal


Instructional Responsibilities:

• Lead students to learn in a IB style using Chinese National Curriculum(CNC) syllabus

• Join in subject syllabus research using CNC and compile the teaching materials that conform to the core concept of IB curriculum.

• Help students to improve their inquiring learning and independence thinking abilities.

• Adapt students into a multiple culture environment.

• Be responsible for teaching your grade level and familiarize yourself with the MYP (Information obtainable from the MYP Coordinator)

• Help plan, design and deliver the Chinese National Curriculum (CNC) in an MYP style

• Help compile the teaching materials that conform to the core concept of IB MYP curriculum

• Look for opportunities to collaborate with specialists in creating transdisciplinary units

• Meet with the MYP Coordinator as required and teachers of the same grade level weekly

• Meet deadlines set by the MYP Coordinator

• Differentiate classroom instruction to meet student’s individual learning needs and styles.

• Help students to improve their inquiring learning and independence thinking abilities through implementing the IB’s Approaches to Leaning

• Assist students to adapt to a multiple culture environment

• Input your program and keep it up to date into Managebac

• Maintain accurate student records on Managebac

• Post the day’s assigned homework before 4:15 p.m. each day

• Use both formative and summative assignments

• Provide students with clear guidelines through the use of rubrics

• Mark and return work to students in a timely manner

• Post your reflections on Managebac at the end of each unit within one week of completion

• Complete the report cards for the students that you teach in a timely manner
