Job Profile:

As the Site Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and focus for all functions at the Quincy FL site. This includes leadership for a broad range of activities including EH&S, Operations (Production and Maintenance), New Product Introduction, Operational Excellence, Process Engineering, and all capital projects necessary to support business unit growth plans. In addition, the Site Manager ensures that processes and activities comply with BASF policies, regulations and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship. The Site Manager is a member of the business leadership team and interacts with global business unit colleagues and support organizations across BASF North America in fulfilling the mission of the business and sites, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving operational excellence. Unique to this site leader role, is a need for business acumen and an entrepreneurial approach to generating niche business demand to supplement and create a synergy with strategic business demand.

  1. Lead, coach, & develop the Site Team at Quincy to excellence in EHS performance; manufacturing capability; as well as meet customer expectations in quality and delivery.
  2. Drive a culture where continuous improvement, breakthrough performance, and an enjoyable work environment are expectations of all team members.
  3. Identify and manage all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, community interaction, quality, cost, equipment optimization and reliability.
  4. Develop and implement budget, objectives, personnel plans, inventory management, and capital plans that align with the strategic objectives of the businesses supplied by Quincy.
  5. Develops and implements manufacturing and asset strategies to ensure assets are aligned with business strategies; that ensure technology transfers are issue-free; as well as provide for reliable & flexible product availability while maximizing asset utilization.
  6. As part of our business team, assist in generating business opportunities for co-products generated at the site.

Ingredients for success. What we look for in you….

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required; degree in an Engineering discipline preferred.
  2. Master’s degree in a commercial discipline is a plus
  3. Minimum 10 years of experience in a minimum of 3 roles in operations, manufacturing, technical services, maintenance and/or engineering required
  4. Experience directly managing others required
  5. Work experience in the chemical industry and/or mining industry preferred
  6. Experience in a commercial role or experience in business generation is preferred.
  7. Demonstrated track record of manufacturing achievement in the critical success areas of EH&S, cost reduction, continuous improvement, cycle time reduction, asset optimization, and application of leading edge methods and technologies.
  8. Excellent analytical/problem solving skills with ability to analyze complex technical, operational and financial data and develop effective solutions.
  9. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence people at all levels in the organization, customers, suppliers and other external contacts that allows for achievement of substantial results through others.
  10. Demonstrated ability to focus employees at all levels to recognize the “right thing to do” and empower them to act decisively within their ability and area of responsibility.
  11. Demonstrated ability to build strong teams, coach, influence and guide employees, and the ability to recognize and develop talent throughout the organization as a means.
  12. Track record for creating continuous improvements in the culture, facilities and technology.
