Through our unrivalled heritage, experience and close partnerships with both the UK and Chinese Governments dating back to 1954, we are uniquely well placed to articulate the needs and views of business in a rapidly expanding and increasingly complex commercial relationship. The advice and support which we deliver to our 900+ members in every sector and across every region and to our private clients has helped build British export capability to the point where Greater China is now the UK’s third largest market.
We are seeking a dynamic Deputy Managing Director and Shanghai China Representative. You will report to the CBBC Managing Director and Chief China Representative, based in Beijing. You will be a member of the CBBC Executive Committee, thus helping to shape the overall direction of CBBC. You will support the Managing Director in leading our Network of 13 Representative Offices across China, under the overall direction set by the CBBC Board and Group Chief Executive.
You will direct our government engagement and wider public affairs work in Eastern China, representing CBBC at the highest levels of business and government. You will design and implement a proactive programme of engagement with key Chinese stakeholders at provincial and municipal level. You will help to shape CBBC’s approach to leading policy issues of the day, including market access, intellectual property rights and major government programmes.
The role will require regular travel within China and some public speaking in both English and Chinese.
