Job Profile:

This person, reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions in New York, will work closely with the Senior Assistant Director of Admissions (in Shanghai) on projects including on-campus event management and international ambassador and campus tour management. This person will also be responsible for responding to incoming inquiries from prospective international applicants to NYU Shanghai, as well as reviewing applications for admission to NYU Shanghai and traveling to various parts of the world to recruit new applicants.


Job Details:
The main responsibilities include
  1. General Admissions responsibilities (40%)
  2. Travel to promote NYU Shanghai
  3. Become expert on examinations and grading scales of assigned territory(ies)
  4. Contribute to planning and implementation of large-scale on-campus events (25%)
  5. Manage multiple aspects of Admitted Student Weekend
  6. Work with Assistant Director of Chinese Admissions to oversee Candidate Weekend projects
  7. Be available to work multiple weekends for implementations of events
  8. Review large numbers of international applications for NYU Shanghai
  9. Develop/enhance NYU Shanghai outreach activities (20%)
  10. Work with Senior Assistant to manage international ambassador program (hiring, training, contracts, pay, job descriptions, etc)
  11. Work with team and internal constituents to develop new events to increase awareness of NYU Shanghai
  12. Additional responsibilities (15%)
  13. Data entry
  14. Inventory management
  15. Additional projects as assigned

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred
  2. Required Experience
  3. 0-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in higher education or admissions-related field
  4. Proficiency in English is required and Mandarin is preferred.
  5. Job grade (i.e. Associate or Senior Associate) will be decided based on candidate’s capabilities and experience
  6. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  7. Strong organization and adaptability skills
  8. Strong communication and presentation skills
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel; understanding of CRM system Slate
  10. Ability to make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner
  11. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
