For foreigners living and working in China, learning Chinese is more than just studying a language — it is a key to better communication, deeper cultural understanding, and more career opportunities.
Even basic Chinese ability can make daily life much easier: ordering food, taking taxis, communicating with colleagues, building friendships, and understanding Chinese culture. For many professionals, improving Chinese skills can also help expand career opportunities and build stronger connections with Chinese partners and employers.
However, the most effective way to improve a language is always practice and real conversation.
Beijing Chinese Coffee Talk is a small and friendly gathering designed for foreigners in Beijing who want to practice Chinese, ask questions, and gain more confidence speaking the language in real situations.
It works like a small Chinese Corner, but with a more focused and supportive format. A Chinese language teacher will join the table, helping participants practice Chinese, answer questions, and share practical tips for learning the language.
It is also a great opportunity to meet new friends and connect with other foreigners who are learning Chinese.
What you can do at the coffee talk
• Practice speaking Chinese in a relaxed setting
• Ask questions about Chinese language and expressions
• Learn practical phrases used in daily life in China
• Share experiences of learning Chinese
• Get guidance from a Chinese language teacher
• Meet new friends and build a language-learning community
