Xiao Nian is a festival held on either the 23rd or 24th day of the 12th Chinese Lunar month, which marks the beginning of the entire Spring Festival celebration. During this period there are many famous activities and customs, such as providing an offering to the kitchen God, dust-sweeping, bathing and hair-cutting, writing couplets, cutting Chinese traditional window paper, eating delicious dumplings, and more.
