Job Profile:

We seek an experienced and outstanding Drama teacher to join our excellent team. We are seeking a passionate teacher who is committed to high-quality teaching, creative and rigorous curriculum development, and positive inclusive education. The ideal candidate will be a highly effective and dynamic teacher who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues. The ideal candidate may use creativity and imagination to develop schemes of work and to plan lessons in order to foster a healthy
culture of learning within the classroom and to place students in the centre of their learning. They will be able to inspire our incredible students with a genuine commitment to their academic and personal development and make a considerable contribution to our department. The candidate must also keep up to date with developments in their subject field, new resources, methods, and initiatives. The candidate must be willing to foster and develop the performing arts program in our schools and be engaged in competitions and other co-curricular opportunities for students.


Job Details:
Requirements
1. Minimum of two years’ teaching experience at high school level
2. Fluent in English, and have ESL teaching experience
3. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree related to drama or the performing arts (drama, theater arts, the performing arts)
4. Teaching Certification in the appropriate area (PGCE) or Master of Education (preferred)

5. Experience in teaching drama to middle and secondary school students


Responsibilities

1. Develop drama curriculum and teach drama classes that meet standards and learning objectives.
2. Design and create engaging, interactive lessons with a student-centred approach
3. Design and deliver lessons on drama-related topics including the practical performances, theater history, stage management, theater design, directing, etc.
4. Direct, produce, adapt, and write shows
5. Assign drama projects and assess finished performance and maintain records and documentation of student learning and progress
6. Support the department in developing drama and cultural events
7. Creates an environment of mutual respect and understanding, manages student behavior;
8. Attend meetings, communicate with parents and contribute to daytime self-study supervision, extra-curricular activities, and school events.
9. May take some ESL classes as well.
