Shangqiu Normal University is located in Shangqiu City of Henan Province, the famous historical and cultural city of China, which, with its rich resources, beautiful environment and profound cultural background, enjoys geographical advantages and broad prospects of development.

Shangqiu Normal University is a provincial undergraduate (four-year) university approved by the State Educational Ministry. It has an area of 1,880 Mu (12,533 acres) and a floorage of 450,000 square meters. At present, there are 17,000 full-time students, 7,000 adult students of various kinds. The university has a teaching and administrative staff of 1,300 of which 56 are professors, 260 are associate professors and 230 have doctor or master degrees. The university has 18 departments and 50 undergraduate majors, covering eight branches of learning: literature, science, engineering, management, economics, history, education and law. The library of this university has a collection of 1,600,000 copies of various kinds of books and 4,500 kinds of journals published in China and other countries. In this university, there are 86 laboratories of different kinds with advanced instruments and equipment.

Candidates must have the ability and commitment to be outstanding classroom teachers in the required age group, usually with a minimum teaching experience of college students.
