NUBS China is an integral part of the Nottingham University Business School awarding the same internationally recognized degrees offered by Nottingham in the UK. In operation for only seven eight, NUBS China already has approximately 2,000 undergraduate students, 300 masters students, a small Ph.D. program, and growing executive education activity. It has a rapidly expanding international faculty of about 80 coming from about 25 countries permanently based in Ningbo. It is EQUIS accredited and is part of a university that is highly rated and is seeking to improve further its ranking among the world’s top research and teaching universities. NUBS China carries out instruction in English and is significantly increasing its research focus and provides an excellent environment and conditions for scholars interested in pursuing an active research agenda.


Job Profile:

This role is based in Shanghai Office.The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting recruitment from across China, with a particular focus on undergraduate recruitment and growing the University’s digital presence in China.


Job Details:
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work with external stakeholders (approx. 50%)
2. Lead on building excellent working relationships with a designated set of recruitment agents and school counsellors,  including telephone, email, face-to-face and digital communication;
3. Attend recruitment events and conducting regular visits to agent offices and international curriculum schools across China, to counsel, train and engage in building close and sustainable relationships with agents, school counsellors, prospective students and their families;
4. Conduct foundation provider visits to build relationships with providers and to advise students about applying to UoN for UG studies;
5. Host workshops and appropriate events to improve agent and school relations;
6. Assess and report on agent and school feeder performance;
7. Collect and answer all forms of enquiries from prospective students and parents;
8. Lead on UG conversion activities, both online and offline;
9. Maintaining and manage our Chinese Schools databases;
10. Lead on Digital Marketing and Communications (approx. 30%)
11. Lead on the day-to-day management of the University’s digital marketing approach in China, with specific attention on advertising through local platforms, such as WeChat and Baidu;
12. Provide regular statistical reporting on campaign performance against strategic objectives and RoI;
13. Produce engaging editorial content for publishing on WeChat;
14. Support internal stakeholders (approx.20%)
15. Provide support for University of Nottingham academic staff undertaking recruitment activity in China, including itineraries and data analysis;
16. Lead on liaison with designated Faculties;
17. Conduct data analysis and surveys to inform strategic decision making;
18. Conduct market research;
19. Contribute to the annual market plans in consultation with the International Relations Manager and colleagues in China;
20. Work with colleagues at our campuses in China and Malaysia to support a global recruitment effort and brand footprint;
21. Work closely with the International Relations Manager and Senior International Relations Manager for China, based in Nottingham, UK.

Qualifications:
Essential
1. Educated to Bachelor degree level;
2. Previous overseas study;
3. Excellent literacy, presentation and interpersonal skills with evidence of building effective working relationships at all levels and communicating across a wide range of internal and external audiences;
4. High proficiency in English and Chinese language;
5. IT skills, highly proficient in the use Microsoft Office;
6. Highly organised, self-motivated and committed, with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and find solutions to complex issues as they arise;
7. Digital marketing and communications expertise in local Chinese channels such as WeChat, Youku and Baidu;
8. Ability to write engaging and well-received WeChat articles;
9. Solid understanding of the UCAS process and UK recruitment practices;
10. Experience of working in a target driven environment and evidence of successfully delivering against those targets;
11. Experience of managing or regularly producing posts for WeChat;
12. A flexible approach towards working patterns is needed which will include working weekends and evenings as necessary;
13. Frequent travel within China is required, and occasional overseas travel may be required;
14. Cross cultural sensitivity and experience of working with other cultures.

Desirable
1. Degree or a professional qualification in marketing, design, computer science, cultural or communications studies;
2. Experience of overseas study in UK;
3. Experience of overseas UG study in UK;
4. Numerate with expertise in statistical software;
5. Design skills for digital campaigns and production of online materials;
6. Event co-ordination / management;
7. Experience of being line-managed from distance;
8. Experience of working with stakeholders such as academic staff, agents and school counsellors in a recruitment environment;
9. Experience of managing advanced digital marketing campaigns, with a strong focus on RoI and statistical evaluation.
